Many years ago I did a book on the Llewellyn, Lewallen, Luallen, etc families, and there was/is a great deal about the family of Henderson Lewelling who was born in Randolph County, North Carolina, April 23, 1810. In 1825 he helped his father start a nursery in New Castle, Indiana. They moved to Salem, Iowa, then to Oregon. There is a Lewelling Quaker Shrine in Salem, Iowa. I believe you could do a Google or Yahoo search for more info on the shrine. Much, although not all, of the information came from two of the descendants who are now deceased. Eventually I hope to put the book that I compiled on the internet.
