Thanks for your reply. It's funny--I found a lot of this info in the last week. It seems that the LDS Family Search is rapidly updating info. Turns out James R. Brooks was married twice--once to Mary J. Gregory, and then after her death in 1881, to Julia A. Hill. I still haven't found which of Sadie's sibs was Mrs. H. Lewis. By process of elimination using the available Marriage Records, it seems it should be Henrietta, but I can't really prove it yet. In Sadie's obit, the sisters are listed as Mrs. L. Allen, Mrs. George Curtis, Mrs. Henry Brown, and Mrs. H. Lewis. I've got the first three nailed down. Obits would be so much more helpful if the woman's first name was included! And you are right--Sadie's and Mary Chidsey's birth dates don't add up on their Marriage Records.
