The Luzad[d]ers descend from the
Lousada [Louzada] family who came
to New York early in the 18th century
from England. The came to England
from Holland; to Holland from Portu-
gal. The name derived from the town
of Lousada in Portugal. They probably
came there from Spain, at least that
is the tradition. Check elsewhere in
