I can only give you some clues. Look for Dovie's parents in Vigo Co. Indiana. Most likley Nevins, (sometimes Nevans) township. I am guessing at this time that the Andrew Jackson Lewsader mentioned here is the son of Mary Faris (Nevins), and Andrew Lewsader, b. 1835. The Lucy mentioned here is probably Mary "Lucy" Nevins, a half sister of Andrew Jackson. Andrew Jackson was a bachelor his entire 96 years, but always seemed to live with or near family. Mary Lucy is the third child of Mary Faris, and unknown Nevins. She was born Feb. 26, 1858. It is possible that Dovie is the daughter of William Nevins, the only son of Mary Faris and unknown Nevins. He is evidentley alive at the time of Dovie's death, because he is mentioned in Mary Faris Nevins Lewsader's obit (5/3/1916) as living in Nevada Missouri, as is Lucy. Andrew Jackson at this time is living in Carthage Mo. probably with his mother, his father died in 1914. To put it simply, I would speculate that Dovie is the d/o William Nevins, b. 9/16/1856, but this needs to be proven. William's mother and step father died in LaRussell, Lawrence Co. Mo. 5/3/1916 and 5/2/1914 respectively. Please let me know how this turns out.
