Lewsader Family Genealogy Forum

Andrew Lewsader (born 1791), married his second wife, Polly Bailey November 29, 1837 (recorded in Fountain County, Indiana.) Thomas Jefferson Lewsader was born September 5, 1838, so yes, Polly is the mother of Thomas. According to the bio sketch of Andrew Lewsader, (born 1835), there were two children born to this union. I have not found Thomas' full blood sibling. Do you know who this is? I assume that this child was born after the senior Andrew died. His probate information indicates Andrew died before March 12, 1839. Census and land records indicate that Andrew (b. 1791), was the son of Aaron Luzader. Aaron Luzader stated in his Military Pension Application that he was born in Somerset County, New Jersey in 1731. Other researchers have Aaron as the son of Aaron senior who was born in England. I don't doubt this, but I have no documentation. It may exist in church records that I have not as of yet searched. Some researchers believe that Aaron senior's father was Jacob Louzada. This I take exception to since I was informed by a Louzada researcher, who sited The Bevis and Marks records of the Jewish Church in London, show that Jacob was was actually an Uncle. From there it gets confussing, and I have not found this Bevis and Marks records to have a first hand look for myself.
As for the idea that the family came from Alsace Lorraine, I wouldn't doubt that they may have been there. I have not researched this idea yet, but that may explain why so many LEWSADERS etc., believe they are of German or French descent, since Alsace Lorraine was somewhat a little of both.
I have a lot of names and dates from birth, death and marriage records in Fountain, and other counties in the area. Some of these I am not able to put into the right slot. Maybe we could help each other here.
