I just learned some of my family history recently, so I'm not sure if we are talking about the same people - but it sure sounds like it. Joseph Lexow is my great grandfather. I don't know about his first wife, but his second wife (supposedly a housekeeper he brought over from Germany after - or perhaps before - his first wife's death) was Theresa Spenbeck. I had heard that Joseph was born in Posen, Germany. His son, Henry Lexow, is my grandfather. He married Bertha Mauge who was born in 1886. (Bertha Mauge's family came from Leipzig Germany in 1883.) Henry Lexow remarried after his first wife's death and he died in 1964 or 1966 I believe - he lived in Chicago. His children are Mildred (Rauen), Bertha (Straubing), Helen (Gardner), Harold, Delores (Rickey), Jeanette (Kugley), and Doris (Novak), my mother. All are deceased except for Jeanette.

Does this sound like it could be some of the information you're looking for? If so, my cousin has done more research and can probably fill in some of the blanks.
