I don't see a possible match in our families, but I just found out that Matthew Leyh had a brother. (don't know name) but the brother was tall and Matthew was short. Now, since Matthew may have been adopted this may have been a brother by adoption. I also don't know if this brother came to U.S. or not. I can't find anything out in Kendell Co., Ill where Matthew stayed for a few years. He then moved to a farm in Fayette Co, Iowa. There are no other Leyhs there except his family. If the brother came with him he may have had another last name if he was a brother by adoption.

Is you family from Illinois? or Iowa?
