William L'Hommedieu of Suffolk Co., Long Island

Looking for information on William L'Hommedieu, born December 1832 (according to the 1900 census)and died around 1920. He was married to Jane (maiden name unknown), who was born in December 1836 in Connecticut and died in 1929. They had the following children that I'm aware of:

-Florence A., born around 1845 and died before 1860
-Clarence H., born 1848 and died before 1900
-Mary Emma, born around 1858 and died in 1893
-Ella G., born March 1861, married someone with last name Burr

William and Jane L'Hommedieu both died in Islip, Suffolk Co., Long Island. I don't know who William's father was. Any help is appreciated.
