Lickteigs Pro and Con

Hello Lickteigs

My g grandfather was Charles or Carl Lickteig who came to Louiville, Ky when he was about 13 years old, with his brother Joseph.

Apparently, brother Joseph was very successful, and ran a grocery store. Many descendants of Carl and Joseph carried the name Joseph.

I have a couple of questions about Charles or Carl Lickteig, my g grandfather.

!. Lore says that he served as a Union Soldier in the Civil War. But I can not find any proof of that.

2. In his application for citizenship at age 21,here in Louisville, Ky; he staTES that he entered the United states in New Orleans at age 13, or about 1858. Joseph was with him at that event and vouched for him.

Furthermore:

Pro: One of Charles or Carl Lickteig's g grandson's is a PHD; and works with soldier's at Fort Knox.

Con: I read about a Carl Licktieg who inbibes a little too much; and is a real con.

Regards,

Don Pfaadt
