My G-G Grandfather, Robert Pugh Lide, son of Hugh Lide, son of Major Robert Lide died in Richmond (adjacent to Carlowville), Dallas County, Alabama on January 16th, 1865 at age 68. R.P. Lide should have been buried in the Carlowville Cemetery as was his Uncle James Lide, R.P.'s son and my G. Grandfather, Thomas Evan Lide and my Grandfather, William Knox Lide. I can locate no evidence that R.P. was buried in the Carlowville Cemetery and am asking help in proving his burial there or elsewhere. My desire to prove burial in the Carlowville Cemetery should be easily understood as my linage from R.P. through William Knox and to my father, Benjamin Burton Rowell, Sr. would be unbroken since both the Lide's and Rowell's arrived in Carlowville in 1835. Just as much a mystery is the burial location of My G. G. Grandfather, Wiley Rowell. My G. Grandfather, Robert Franklin Rowell, my Grandfather, Robert Harvey Rowell and as above stated, my Father are all buried in the Carlowville Cemetery. Wiley also should be buried there, but for some reason record is not evident. It is very likely an unusual situation to have both immediate family lines buried in the same cemetary. Quite naturally, and not to soon I hope, there I hope also to reside. Perhaps at that time I shall learn much more family history than I know now. Notify Administrator about this message?
