Hi Mr Taylor,

Maj. Robert Lide's (B.1734) father was David Lloyd (B.1707) and his mother was Anna Crawford. His brothers were John (B.1730) and Thomas (B.1732). Anna Crawford died in 1740 and her brother, John Crawford took all three boys to the Welsh Neck of the Pee Dee River. This may be the same John Crawford who married Mary Duke, but if it was, he was already blood uncle to Major Lide, and not uncle by marriage. Both Robert and Thomas joined the Continental Militia when they grew up. Robert became a Major in the revolutionary war and served in Marion's Brigade, as you know. I descend directly from Major Lide through his son James.
