I descend from Major Robert Lide directly on two lines.

David Lloyd (B.1645, Llanwddyn Wales, D. 1685) had 3 children, Robert (1669-1714), Thomas (1671) and Gainor (birthdate unkwn.) All 3 children sailed on the ship, Lion, out of Liverpool in 1683 to live with a relative, Rebecca Owen in Merion, PA. Robert Lloyd married Lowery Jones in 1698 and had 3 children; Hannah (1699), David (1707) and Rees (prob. 1710).
In 1729 David inherited his father's property, sold it and moved to Winchester VA, where he married Anna Crawford. They settled in Roanoke, VA and had three children' John (1730), Thomas (1732) and Robert (1734). Anna Crawford died in 1740 and her brother John took all three boys to the Welsh Neck of the Pee Dee River, SC, where they changed the spelling of the name to Lide.
So, Lowery Jones was Grandmother to the three Lide brothers, David their father, Anna Crawford their mother and John Crawford their maternal uncle. David stayed behind in Roanoke. Hope this clears things up.
