DISCLAIMER: I do not research the Lide surname. Just reporting an article that appeared in the 8/04/08 issue of the Longview News-Journal, an area newspaper here in East Texas.
THE LIDE HOUSE
Location: 422 E. Third in Mt. Pleasant; marker dedicated in 1971.
History: This house was built in 1895 by Charles O. and Mary Jane (Davis) Lide, who with their three sons were leaders in business, civic and church circles. This is one of the city's oldest houses. Some interior woodwork was milled in St. Louis. The house was built in a late Victorian architecture style.
(Added by me: there is a street named Lide Street in Mt. Pleasant.)
