First Lide I can document is Robert who d. Charles City Co. 1724. Found one line about a Capt. Robert Lide who sailed between VA and England in late 1600s. Will have to look up exact date. A Ro. Lide owned land in Ye Maine before 1690. Don't know if all same person or two. A Cornelius Lide/Loyd was merchant in Bristol late 1600s. His sons Stephen & Lyonel temp. in VA early 1700s. Don't know if any connection.
Would love to make connection as origin of Lides a big dispute. What info do you have about Thomas Lide?
