Do you have Elizabeth Marston Duke's 1729 will? She was Sarah Duke Lide's mother and the maternal grandmother of John, Thomas, Robert Lide. Sarah's sister Mary m. John Crawford, went to SC with Lide boys.
I have some Duke info and a bit of Marston info but have run into some confusion there.
Thomas Duke>Col. Henry Duke, d. 1714 VA>Thomas Duke m. Elizabeth Marston>Sarah Duke m. John Lide/Loyde. Do you have John Lide/Loyde's NC will? First Thos. Duke's widow Mary m. 2nd a Mr. Foster. Ro. Lide's dau. Sarah m. neighbor Joseph Foster, prob. son of above. Maps show Lide, Dukes (Mary Duke Foster, Col Henry, bro. John Duke, our Thomas Duke, etc.)and Fosters were neighbors.
Know from her will that Elizabeth Marston Duke's father was Thomas Marston of James City Co.VA. Brother Capt. Wm. Marston Sheriff of Charles City Co. Can't identify E's mother but some genealogies have her as Rebecca Green, dau. of Thomas "the seagull" Green and Martha Filmer, dau. of Maj. Henry Filmer. Filmer gen. goes back several centuries.
