I am trying to find more on Mary Ann Lightner's ancestors. According to Ancestral File, she was the daughter of James Lightner and Mary Ann ?

She may have been born in 1803 in Adams Co. or Cumberland Co., PA. Her father was supposedly born abt 1777 in Adams Co., PA. Her mother was supposedly born abt. 1781 in Adams Co., PA.

According to Ancestral File she married Christopher Smith abt 1827. I descend from their daughter, Sarah Ann Smith Hamson, b. in 1828.

Christopher died around 1836 due to injuries sustained from a stage coach accident of which he was the driver.

She remarried to a Bartholomew Mahoney before 1848. They joined the Mormon church and lived in Nauvoo, IL for a short time before heading to Utah. They arrived in Utah in 1852.

They are listed as living in Weber County, UT in the 1856 Statehood Census Index.

According to LDS Ward records for Lehi, Utah, both Mary Ann and Bartholomew were dead by Oct. 1862.

Bartholomew died Sept 29, 1862, in Lehi, UT, according to the 1862 Deseret News newspaper.

If you know more on Mary Ann's line PLEASE let me know! I would love to extend this line past James Lightner!
