I need some help -- my 2nd gr-grandfather, Jehu Hall, appears in the 1850 Murray Co. GA census record -- his 8th child is listed as "Like Ann", F, age 10 -- since neither he nor his wife could read or write, I assume this is a phonetic spelling. After being stumped by it, I stumbled across the Colonial Swedes web site and discovered Lykan,Lykins,Likins as a surname from the New Sweden colony. I think Like Ann may be Lycan. Jehu is living next door to a family of Petersons and two Hall brothers who are married to Sabra Peterson and Sarah Peterson. I am looking for a connection with this group in GA in 1850 back through SC and NC to New Sweden.
