Martinsburg Gazette Feb.20,1845 In Darkesville after a long and painful illness on the 16th Mrs. Sarah Likens, wife of Joseph Likens aged 51. She was a member of the Methodist Church for 25 years and has left a large family and friends to mourn her loss.
Joseph and Sarah's children: Henry Mann Likens(1836-1897) married June 28,1859 to Mary Susan Miller He committed sucide in Mechanicsburg Pa Sept 26,1897 They were my great grandparents.I have his obituary and it is really gorry., Catherine Likens b 1827 who married James Butler Jan 27,1848, and Harriet Likens (1821-1892) She married John Hastings (Constable) July 1839 and had 2 children Francis b.1844and Lucy b.1852 They lived in Darkesville Berkeley6 Co WV There are 2 children buried in Brucetown Cemetery that may have been their children : Eliza Jane 1822-1824

Children Sarah 1794-1845 M Joseph Likens 11/29/1819

According to my record from Morgan Chapel and thr Bergan Papers William Merchant (1725-1772) son of Richard and Mary Sweeting Priscilla ?? was wife
Children: Richard b.1850 married Sarah William b.1852
Jacob b.1854 Isaac 1856or60-1814)m Mary I think Mary and Sarah were "BULL" sisters
Another Mary 1757 m David Lewis III
Frances 1765 Elizabeth 1767
Rebecca 1748 mJames Stewart
Abraham 1763 m Sarah Bull moved to Ohio
John 1765or69 mMary Sarah Bishop moved to Washington Co Va
and Mary 1819-1924
In the 1860 census Joseph was living in the house next door with the Hastings family.

Mary Sweeting was a widow. Her husband Edward Sweeting died in 1716. Her father was William Ebden and mother Jane.Records come from Baltimore County.
Children: William b1772 who married Priscilla
Elinor b 1727 Married Benjamin Barrett
Mary 1734 Married Jonathan Taylor
Richard jr who sold the estate and moved to SCin1771
