Help with Brazil birth certificates!

Hello.

I am trying to find out how to obtain birth certificates from Brazil. Specifically I am trying to get a birth certificate for Maria Aparecida da Conceicao, born Sept 25, 1947 in Sertaozinho, Sao Paulo, Brazil. She married Jose Ferreira de Lima in the early 1960s and passed away in 1983. I am a highly trained genealogist in regard to American and european research but have not worked on a Brazilian family before (and this one is part Japanese as well so that will be interesting :) I am doing this research for a very closer friend who never knew his mother and would like to find out more about her.

Thank you for your help :)
