History = "Pedro Alvares Cabral" a Portugese Explorer also Ancestor of "Jose De Lima", father of "Manuel Lima" discovered Brazil on the 22nd April 1500. He erected a wooden cross and christened the new land, claimed it for "Portugal", and called it "Ilha Da Vera Cruz (Island of the True Cross). King Manuel renamed it "Santa Cruz" (Holy Cross).
Finally renamed to Brasil.
"Pedro Alvarez Cabral" Lived from 1460-1526.
"King Manuel" Lived from 1469-1521.
I am a descendant of Manuel Josef from (spain) who married Tapita from New Zealand.
I have a family tree of how "Lima" originated.
