Fredrico Montero Lima and family (lost landing)

I have been researching this for a year now and I am stuck in the same spot. I am decended from a line of Limas that came from Itacare, Bahia, Brasil and before that they were from Durango, Portugual. The problem is I have not yet found out when or where they landed in the United States. My family has moved around alot and I cannot find a census. My parents are no longer living and the only relatives I have are 2 aunts who both are confused on the matter. I know that my great great grandparents left Itacare in 1899 and their names are Maria Camela Lima (maiden name Ambrosio) and Fredrico Montero Lima at this time from what I can see they had 4 children Maria-9 Allesandra-7, Manuel-6 (my great grandfather), and Camela-2. If you can help in any way that would be great and feel free to email me for questions.
