My name's Jose Lima & I was born March 12, 1966 in Limonar, Matanzas, Cuba (live in Miami).

I would like to know how I can trace my father's lineage. Lima was not a common name in Cuba, since most the settlers to that country were Spaniards and this is apparently a Portuguese name.

I've also heard it is a Sephardic last name.

Any advice would be greatly appreciate!
