Ms. Becky Davis.Richard Robert Lind was born to John D. and Bessie M. Lind July 21, 1915 in Fall River County, South Dakota.Dad's brother Herbert died at the age of 5 or 6, and his sister Marie died in infancy.Dad was raised on a small ranch outside of Hot Springs S.D. called the "Teenie Place".He was a member of the South Dakota National Gaurd, and the LDS church. To the best of my knowledge he was the first Eagle Scout in South Dakota.Dad married Evelyn ? and together they had 4 children.Richard Neely, Jenny, Linda, and Betty Jean.In the 50s Dad and Evelyn were divorced, and he married my mother Phyllis V. Henry.Together they had 2 children.Robert Steven, (that's me), and Melody Marie.
Richard Neely Lind died of pancreatic cancer shortly after he retired in 1997.He is survived by his son Monte, and daughter Sherry.
Jenny passed away in the early 70s and is survived by her son David.
Linda was killed in an auto accident in 66, or 67 and she is survived by her 4 children Becky, (is this you?), Iona, and 2 boys whose names escape me.
Betty Jean I believe is living in Salt Lake City and has 3 or 4 children.
I have 3 children, 2 girls and a boy and am living about an hour north of Spokane.
Melody has a daughter Harmony and both live on the west side of Washington State.
The name Lind I have found is not widespread in Sweden where Grandpa John immigrated from and is likely a shortened version of Linden, or Linder. There is some information available on the LDS Gen web site about dad and his parents, siblings and Grandma's family.
