Ah, then your family was probably in one of the two different groups that migrated to eastern TN from Lincoln Co., NC. When I was doing some research on Greene Co., TN, on another surname, that was when I discovered a group of folks from NC had migrated there first in the late 1700's, then another group of relatives before 1820. I am a desc. of Lewis Lineberger (1740-1782)and Barbara Anna Maria Spanheimer. Their son, Frederick Lineberger (1760-1839)and Eve Willis settled in Lincoln Co., NC. Some of their children (not my direct desc.) were in the group that migrated to TN.
