Dear John - Did you ever get a copy of the book? I have a zerox copy which I can duplicate and send to you if you did not get a copy yet.
I'm a Linebarger from Arkansas, but I know there is a Michael L. branch from here also. They have some relatives with an annual reunion is Purdy, MO, which is near Joplin.
They are great people and have lots of information. I don't know if this email address is still good since I got it over a year ago and haven't tried to use it, but you might try. It is: steveg@monet.com
I'm from the Andrew L. family from Indiana, and his son Samuel is my ggfather and is buried here in Bentonville, AR where I live near. Also Samuel's youngest son, Clarence (my gfather) and C. A, my father are all buried with him.
Clarence and his brothers FW & CC started the original Bella Vista as a summer resort - It is now expanded to Bella Vista Village and is a retirement community of 34,000 acres with 7 golf courses & 5 lakes. Fun place, but that's the way we Linebargers have liked it for the past 100 years!
Let me know if you need the book. Also if you are a sci-fi reader, Cordwainer Smith is the pseudonym for Paul Myron L., who also is off the John L. branch. Fun, huh?
