Hi Don,
Just happened to notice your note -- you say you will trade information????I'd like to know the nature of the material you have on Conrad -- although I don't have anything to trade other than what is on my database in the Rootsweb system.
Conrad was my 2nd ggf.'s name and we have often wondered if he was named after his grandfather, Conrad Winne. We've also wondered if there was, indeed, a Conrad Lingenfelter for whom he was named. One person did find a tax listings for the year 1773, I think, for a Conrad Lingenfelter. It was for the Amsterdam, Montgomery Co., N. Y. area -- right along in there where Johannes and Michael Lingenfelter raised their families. We just figured it was someone's interpretation of one of the brothers' names -- if they came from Germany, chances are they had a heavy accent. If you'd like the citation, I will try to find it.
Could it be that the Conrad Lingenfelter you seek was old enough in the 1760's to have been the father of Johannes or Michael who were born in the 1750's????? Love to hear your thoughts.
