Johann Michael Lingenfelder, son of Pancratius and Catharina Lingenfelder, married a wife named Molly (surname unknown) sometime prior to 1775, presumably in Pennsylvania. By the late 1780's he had anglicized his name to John Michael Lingerfelt, and he migrated to Lincoln County, NC.
Lingefelts in North Carolina
Between about 1785 and 1810, a number of Lingefelts apparently had come from Pennsylvania and settled in North Carolina, around Lincoln and Burke Counties, where many of their descendants still reside. All of these appear to be children or descendants of Johann Michael. The earliest Lingefelt record in North Carolina apparently is a land transaction indicating that on 10 November 1788 John Lingafeld purchased three hundred acres of land on both sides of Howard's Creek in Lincoln County, NC. He is the same person as Johann Michael , son of Pancratius Lengenfelder.
His son John Michael Lingerfelt's children started the Migration.
I can furnish you a pretty good information if you would like to share what you have on the Lingerfelt Line.
