Noting your various postings, I wonder if you have anything to help me on, in particular, E. Wesley LINGO b about 1853 Missouri or TN. I think his father is Jonathan b TN and his mother was Martha ? and that they lived in Union, Iron, MO in 1860 and 1870, and their son E. Wesley LINGO was born in TN or possibly MO.

E.W. LINGO / LINGE married 1877 into my my SMITH / McLAIN family that lived in Lawrence County, Walnut Ridge area in Arkansas.

I note also that you have McCLAIN/ McLAIN in your postings, as well as SMITH.

I have Charles McLAIN / McCLAIN line (out of NC to KY, TN, IL, and back to TN. He was born about 1784 NC and died in Weakley Co TN. He is my gggg grandfather and his son my ggg grandfather Charles McLAIN b about 1809 ?IL or TN, and wife Perlina A. b 1811 TN came before 1850 census to Lawrence Co AR. I have no parents for Charles b 1784 ...not yet ...but am involved in DNA tests with many excellent matches to give us clues ...back to VA, PA for instance and down to NC / SC.

Back to LINGO.

Christin SMITH, b Christiana / or Christena McLAIN abt 1830 TN to Charles McCLAIN & Elizabeth
Mar: abt 1851 AR to James SMITH b abt 1830 KY
James SMITH d 1870 AR (Mortality Census) and family 'may' have gone to TX, but returned to AR by 1878/79 for marriage of oldest daughter Perlina or Polina Anna SMITH to John Thomas TEWELL who married March 1879 Lawrence Co AR.

Christena McLAIN SMITH died between 1880 and Dec 29 1883 when her heirs (daughters) sold their land to Christiana's younger brother Squire McLAIN, b 1841 TN, mar Melinda Caroline HARDIN in AR. Polina Anna SMITH and spouse John Thomas TEWELL, and E. Wesley LINGO and spouse Nancy C. SMITH as heirs of Christeny SMITH sold their land Dec 29, 1883 following a shooting incident of Lewis CISSELL and the resulting trial and conviction of John Thomas TEWELL middle of 1884. Whole family went on the run when the 'Smith brothers / family' busted TEWELL out of jail after his 15 yr sentence in May 1884. (I have some court documents.)

This is long enough ....but I want you to have an overall picture and surnames / locations involved.
