Looking for information on James SETTLEMIRE/SETTLEMIER born about 1850 in Mississippi. He married Bessie HUFF April 24,1887 in Red River County, Texas. He was living in Lexington, Oklahoma in 1892 and 1893. He then went to Garrett's Bluff, Lamar County, Texas 1894-1897. He is back in Oklahoma living in Oak Hill, Choctaw Nation in 1900. In 1910 he is living in Stringtown, Atoka County, Oklahoma. He applied for Guardian Pension from the Civil War for Elizabeth, James, George and Robert HUFF, children of Joseph HUFF who served in the Civil War for Arkansas. Joseph's wife was Martha LINN who died in 1882. I do not know if Bessie HUFF is related to Joseph HUFF at this time. He and Bessie had the following children: Minnie 1888 Indian Territory, Perry 1891 Indian Terr., John 1892 Indian Terr., Mammie 1893 Indian Terr., Charles 1895 Texas, and Allie 1898 Indian Territory. He also had a son from a previous marriage: James M. 1885 Arkansas
