Hi there - I arrived at this list somewhat by accident, hence this response to a rather old posting, but the reference to Chiddingfold caught my eye.I am responding to the request for "any information about the Lintotts of Chiddingfold".
I have been researching my mother's family in Dunsfold, Surrey where I myself was born - it's the next village to Chiddingfold, about 5 miles away. I have just learned from the 1901 census of England that my great-grandmother, Esther Cox, was at that time a lodger in the household of a James Lintott living in Fisher Lane, "Walking Stick manufacturers clerk" aged 30, born Chiddingfold.Wife Emily A. (30) born Fernhurst, Sussex; children Dorothy A. Lintott(5)and (unnamed male)Lintott(1), both born Chiddingfold. My gt-grandmother was then aged 67.
I appreciate that this information may well be for too late a period for family history purposes, but it is all I have on the Lintotts!
Best wishes, Mike
