Hyman [Chaim] Lipman was born in Minsk, Belorus on May 27, 1868 - the son of Isaac Lipman and Naomi Polliakof.
Hyman married 3 times. First wife was Sarah Freedland, with whom he had son,Israel Lipman. Second wife was Ellen Freedland, with whom he had son, Isaac "Irving" Lipman and daughter Annie [Chayna] Lipman. His third wife was Ida Butler with whom he had Max Lipman, David Lipman [died in infancy], George Lipman, and one or two more sons who died in infancy.
Hyman Lipman left Belorus, which was part of the Russian Empire, in 1906. He settled in Chelsea, MA where his 3rd wife's family [her parents and siblings] had already settled three years prior . Hyman came to America with his step-daughter, Anna Rebecca Horowitz - a daughter from 3rd wife Ida Butler's 1st marriage [to Joseph Horowitz].
His 3rd wife, Ida Butler Lipman, and his children, Israel, Isaac "Irving", Annie, and Max were left behind in Belorus until enough money could be made in America to send for them. They came to Chelsea and joined Hyman in 1909 [sons David, George, and the 2 others were born in MA].
I am looking for anyone who is a relative of this family. I am the grandaughter of Max Lipman, great-grandaughter of Hyman Lipman and Ida Butler.
Most of the family moved out to the Los Angeles, CA area.
