Wm. Lipscombe from West Wycombe, Bucks
Posted by: Paul Sherriff Date: November 26, 2001 at 11:07:06
  of 52

Does anyone have any information regarding William Lipscombe, a chairmaker, born at West Wycombe, Bucks around 1786, married Mary Ann .... (or Marianne.....) and had at least 3 children whilst living at Marlborough, Wilts. Matilda bpt. Oct 1811, John bpt. Dec 1814, and Elizabeth bpt. Jun 1815. At some time thereafter, moved to Newbury, Berks, and is shown on the 1851 census as a master chairmaker aged 55. The IGI lists 2 William's from West Wycombe, one bpt. 23 Apr 1786, which I think is the right one, but I am not sure. He was the son of Joseph & Elizabeth Lipscombe. Any information would be appreciated
