Hello, Lipscombe Family Researchers. I am still looking for info on my grandfather, Jackson W. Lipscombe, born 15 Sep 1889 in Richmond, Va and his family. He was called "Jack" and also had the nickname of "Guy". He had 8 or 9 brothers and sisters, but all of them died young from from typhoid fever. In addition to Jack, the following siblings survived to adulthood. Joe Lipscombe, who had 5 sons and lived in Philadelphia, Pa. A sister, Lillian Lipscombe, died from blood poisioning. There were two other sisters, one was named Gladys Lipscombe and the other one was Daisy (Lipscombe) Hockehull. Jack was known to work in contruction work (brick mason). At the time of my mother's birth in 1915, he was working as a manager for the Palace Movie Theater in Jacksonville, Fl. I believe he also may have been in the Navy, but don' know that for a fact. He divorced his first wife, my grandmother, Lily Clarissa Bailey and he married a woman with the first name of Ellen, but I don't know her surname. I am fairly certain that there were at least two children of the second marriage. Their names were Anne and Benjamin Lipscombe. I believe that Jack probably moved back north from Jacksonville to New Jersey or Philadelphia area. Any help will be most appreciated. Grandson, Henry
