Hi, Pat!
Hope your annual trip went well.I have been corresponding with a relative in your neck of the woods concerning the GIBSON/LIPSEY connection.
We have sorted out the children of William LIPSEY & (Sarah?) REASONOVER.And we have noticed that it is quite interesting that Clara (likely GRANADE) REASONOVER only willed items to two daughters, Elizabeth LIPSEY & Abigail LIPSEY (dated 22 June 1778.Proved by Edmund Hatch)....
"To my granddaughter Elizabeth Lipsey a small chest and 1/3 of my wearing apparel...The rest of my estate divided to my grandchildren, Elizabeth and Abagail Lipsey, and their estate to remain in hands of Emanuel Sim[m]ons until my granddaughter Abagail Lipsey is of age."
"To my Granddaughter Abagail Lipsey, bed and furniture, pot, skillet, tea kettle, spice mortar, crockery ware, saddle, linen wheel.all my pewter, large chest, and 2/3 of my wearing apparel; The rest of my estate divided to my grandchildren, Elizabeth and Abagail Lipsey, and their estate to remain in hands of Emanuel Sim[m]ons until my granddaughter Abagail Lipsey is of age."
It would appear that (Sarah?) REASONOVER died after only having these two children with William. The names of the children thereafter are very much in line with those common in the GIBSON family---specifically Isaac, which I believe was the name of Ann's father.
Still working out the kinks on this one.But it seems to make sense with Clara REASONOVER's will now.
Have you seen anything on the GIBSON line and LIPSEY connection???
All the best!
Please note my change in e-mail address, too!!!Thanks!
Sincerely,
Matt
