Litscher Family History

I'm searching for information on my Litscher family heritage. Our branch of the family descended from Nicolas Litscher, 1837-??, son of Antoine Litscher & Catherine Girard from France (Alsace). Nicolas served in Napoleon's army in North Africa and Mexico, then came to USA to Toledo, Ohio. His wife Josephine and son John came to USA in 1868. They had 3 living children in the 1900 census, but I only know about one of them, their son John.

John Litscher, born 1867 (Alsace- France or Germany?) came to USA as baby in 1868. He married Irish immigrant Bridget Higgins, who came from Galway in 1883. They married in 1890 and had five children, John Nelson Litscher (born 1891), Frank P. Litschr (born 1892, George H. (born 1896), William L. (born 1898), and Josephine (born 1914).

John Nelson Litscher was my grandfather. He was born 1891 in Toledo, Ohio, then family moved to Meriden, Connecticut. He served in Army, married Lillian Violet Bowers and had four children: John Joseph Litscher, Margaret Litscher Cottrell, Charles Litscher and Alice Litscher Bushey.

I would like to learn more about my family and would be delighted to share the information that I have. Verne (nee Litscher) Walsh
