Hi.
Thomas J Stowers was indeed with the 7th Cavalry at the LBH, but he was on Reno Hill and with "B" Co and the Packtrain prior to arriving at Reno's position. He actually enlisted as James Thomas, which is why he is not on the Roster for June! There were MANY survivors from the Reno Hill and Valley fights and, as there weren't any waggons with the column for him to be carted away on, I should say that he is just one of the survivors who embelished their stories! I think that there used to be enough sole survivors to make up another Regiment!
Regards
Ron
