Libersan is a founding settler name of New France, LĂ©onard Libersan married in Montreal in 1699. The family appears to have stayed in Montreal for the first generations, the later generations are not very frequently found in other areas of Quebec. Perhaps the boys move off to the west ot to Louisian. A second possibility is that the dit name of Liversan is dit Lavoilette and this name is fairly common in Quebec and Canada. You might want to search this dit name. See Dictionnaire Tanguay page 735 for the first two generations.
The Benoit dit Livernois generally, stayed on the south shore of the St Lawrence and went no further east of Montreal than Vercheres. In 18 years of searching I have yet to find a marriage of a Livernois north of Montreal, perhaps recent marriages, but not those before 1900. Hence I believe your Livernois is a cooincidence in names.
Going to the PRDH data bank of the University of Montreal up to 1799 Libersan was found 63 times and rank 1245s in the order of use as a family name. On the other hand Laviolette is found 197 times and ranks 545 as its frequency among family names. The place to search is the Island of Montreal for the Libersan dit Laviolette ancestors.
