Hi everyone.
The Lock / Locke DNA project is going nicely, 7 tests have been ordered to date. Results for 4 tests are in, the 5th test will be done this month. 2 were just ordered.

Donations to the general fund paid for the later 2 tests, so that is great.

If you are interested in the DNA project, please visit my web site and click on the links associated with the project.

This project is for any Lock(e) anywhere in the world.
You do not have to be a family researcher to participate, all are welcome.
The goals are to determine how many lines there are in the world, and to find out which lines are related to each other.
The paper trail for many familys are cold and at a stand still.

By being able to see through DNA which lines shared a common male ancestor, that will help jump start new research because in time when enough participates have taken the test, we will get to see who all shared a common ancestor with other branchs.

The DNA test is a simple skin cell swab, rubbed from the inside of your mouth, that you do in your own home. It is not a blood test. So no fears of sharp objects to give blood. ;)

If you are interested in the test, but can not afford it, I can add your name and email address to my ever growing list, so you can get a free test when funds are available.

Free tests can only be given out if folks donate to the general fund! So we are actively searching for donations to help pay for tests for Lock(e)'s around the world who can not afford the test.
Some will reject the idea of a DNA test simply because they can not afford it, if we can offer them a free test, more will participate in the project. So help by donating to the general fund. The general fund is set up to except any US Dollar amout you wish to donate.

This is a great way for you Lock(e) lady descendants to help out, help by getting the word out and help by seeking donations for the project. I am but 1 man, and I can't do it alone, so I can use all the help I can get.

You have to be a male Lock(e) to participate in the project.
If you are female, seek out your male Locke's and ask them to be tested.

Just because 1 male has been tested from your family line, doesn't mean you shouldn't be tested. The more results we have, the more we have to compare with. They suggest many distant cousins be tested.

Also check out the family page, I am putting together a list of each family line, your oldest male descendant that you can trace back to. This will help sort out who is who. For each family I give a family number. This number is only to keep tract of which family it is, nothing more. As each family line is added they are given a number.

I have 40 familys listed so far, but that is only a small start, as there are tons more to be added. So if your family line can not be traced to one of the familys already listed, feel free to email me and have me add your line to the list so you can be represented. This is a group effort as I can not do it alone.
We need your support! :)

USA, Canada, England, Germany, Australia, Sweden, Norway, even Africa, I don't care where you come from, this project is for all of us Lock(e)'s.
Only exception I can think of is China.
