I am working with a related line, Milton B. Lockard, who was also a son of William and Gertrude (Boone) Lockard. The information I have been given (unconfirmed) is that Milton's grandfather married a Cherokee woman from Oklahoma. I don't know if it was his paternal or maternal grandfather.

So far I haven't found anyone from OK. Gertrude is listed as born in MO, her father in VA or WV, and her mother in IL. Her husband William is listed as born in IA, as are his parents.

I found a Henry and Marthy A. Lockard, 1900 in Benton county MO. They have sons Samuel, William and John. Could this be the same family? Henry is listed as being from Ohio, so this may not be the correct family.

Any ideas? I would be happy to hear more form you.
thanks
Liz
