Hi Kathy, I don't have anything definite to help you, but I think there might be a possibility here. My records show an Asa D. Gardner, b. abt 1783 who married Catherine G. Smith, b. abt August 1795. They are both buried in Harmony Presbyterian Cem. in Harmony, Warren Co., NJ. Asa was a son of William Loder and Sarah Rea. I don't have any more info on Catherine Smith, but I would follow the possibility that Catherine had a sister named Hannah who married a Gardner and named a son after her brother in law?? The WIlliam Loder children were also connected to the Smiths and Gardners in other ways: William Loder's son, Samuel Loder, married Rachel Gardner, b. 1788 and she was the daughter of James Gardner and Elizabeth Froome. They were married in Belvidere, Warren Co., NJ in abt 1812. They are both buried in Belvidere Cem. William Loder's son, Levi Lewis Loder, married Mary Gardner, b. 12/16/1800 and she was another daughter of James Gardner and Elizabeth Froome. This couple moved with their family to PA (Northampton Co.). Then we have another son of William Loder named ALexander Loder who married Sarah Ann Smith. Sarah, b. abt 1804, was the daughter of Tunis Smith and Elizabeth Unknown. ALexander is buried in Harmony Presbyterian Cem. and I am not sure where Sarah is buried. Please respond with any ideas. I will see if I can find out more about Catherine Smith's parents. Sheri Pegg slyp1008@aol.com Notify Administrator about this message?
