Hi Roy,
Please forgive me for the late reply.Vacation and modem problems have contributed. Thanks for the information on the Loga family and the AGOL packing company.
At this point, I can't say if we have a match or not.My Grandfather's name was Christian Loga, son of Ferdinand Loga and Julia Getz.I do not think Ferdinand and Julia came to the US. Their children were: Christian (born May 28, 1868 in Warsaw, Poland), Samuel, Ferdinand, Carl, Daniel & Mathilda.
Christian married Mary (Maria) Brade april 15, 1894 in Poland. They had one daughter, Clara (my mother). Here is the story my mother learned from others.Christian & Mary would not talk--I think they were afraid they would be deported.Apparently Clara was orphaned--her father in the military and her mother was crushed between two cars while arranging for her father's funeral. Her real mother had left her in the care of the Logas who operated a small grocery store in the neighborhood.Mary Loga quickly took Clara to church and had her baptized as their daughter.Later they brought her to the US with them in 1910.
Can you or anyone else expand on this data?
