My grandfather was Alfred Loiselle; he grew up in Fall River, MA and later lived in Somerset, MA. He married Alpheda Bienvenue, who came to Fall River from St. Valerian, Quebec, Canada.
We were always told that his grandmother (or maybe great grandmother?) was an Indian, and there was an old tintype photo around of her, clearly Indian. The picture somehow disappeared over the years and none of our relatives seem to have it, either.
