Loman orphans to Texas, ca.1870

I'm researching George Franklin Loman/Lowman/Bose. He was born in 1861 in the Carolina's. His parents died in 1866 at the same time of a great tradgedy. They are posibly "full-blood Indian". I do not know their names. He had a brother John and a sister Anna. Anna raised him and a Texas Ranger by the last name of Hightower. I have found a J.W. Hightower married to a person by the name of Anna on the Van Zandt Co., Texas census in 1870 with an orphan by the name of George Bose living with them. This family moved around alot. By 1880, they have a child born in Dennison Texas. My, George Franklin Loman, was following the rail lines in 1880, from Dennison, Texas to Joplin, Mo.
I believe this is the correct family he was living with.
Does anybody know anything about these Loman? orphans and who their parents were?
