Hallo, I belong to a Swedish Loman family Which I have traced back to 1724 so far.
They have most of the time lived on an island Torsö in the lake Vänern outside the town Mariestad. In several generations they earned their living as skippers and owners of sailing ships for coastal freights.
It is very likely that the name, which is not typically swedish, originates from Germany or possibly the Netherlands.1887 a Loman left for the USA Johan V. Loman born 1866 26 May.His widoved mother Lovisa Albertina born Levin 1835 and sister Emma Kristina born 1873 13 Sept.followed him 1888 to the USA I have no trace of them.
