Good day! I am looking for descendents of William George Hamill. I only just recently found descendents of William George but he apparently had many children and was married twice. I will give you some background information on William George Hamill. He was born on October 8, 1877 in the Parish of Drummaul, County Antrim, Ireland. His father’s name was James Hamill, his mother’s name was Margaret Jane (nee Osborne). He was likely baptized at Randalstown Old Congregation Presbyterian Church because all of his siblings were baptized at this church. William George was the oldest of his siblings. William George married Elizabeth (Lizzie) Murphy Campbell on January 5, 1901. I do not know William George’s second wife’s name. At some point, William George went from being Presbyterian to Catholic. William George had about 12-14 children. He had about seven children with Elizabeth because the first seven children were sent to Scotland to work on a farm in Port Glasgow, Scotland. This farm is believed to have been owned by cousins. The names of the children known to have been born to William George are James (born first on May 2, 1901), Robert (born around 1908), Margaret, Annie, and Alexander. James and Robert were born to William and Elizabeth. I do not know which wife Margaret, Annie, and Alexander were born to. Margaret married a Trimble. Annie married a Wilkinson. Alexander died on the HMS Repulse during WWII on December 10, 1941.
If any of this sounds familiar, or if you can help in any way, please let me know. I really look forward to hearing from you! Best of luck on your research!!
