Thankyou for your reply, since my post I have found some things on this line, but still haven't found parentage to my Peter.I have someone looking for an obit for Peter now.I found where he and his wife are buried Rosedale cem. East oakland twp., Coles CO. IL. he died 9/23/1881 aged 67 years making him born c. 1817., wife Sarah (Collins) Longnecker b. 1//3/1817 died 8/22/1881.There is a America Ann Longnecker age 67 died 12/12/1885 buried in the I00F Cem., Humboldt twp., Coles CO. IL., not sure how she is related. From "The History of Coles CO. IL. tax payers East Oakland twp., Sam'l, Longnecker, I.L. Longnecker, and P.T. Longnecker (Peter T.) these other two are possible sons.
1880 Oakland, Coles CO. IL., Peter T. 64 b. KY father b. KY mother b. MD., Sarah A. 64 b. OH., father b. ---- mother b. Oh.,
next door is son James Longnecker 24 b. OH., and wife and child.
The 1820 census for Preble Co. OH, all Dixon twp., all on page 87
Jacob Longnecker, 1 male 10 under 16, 1 male 16 under 18, 3 males 16-under 26, 1 male 45 up, 1 female 0-under 10, 2 females 10 under 16, 1 female 45 up
Peter Longnecker, 1 male under 10, 1 male 26 not 45, 1 female under 10, 1 female 18 under 26
Peter Longnecker, 1 male 16 under 26, 1 male 45 up, 1 female 10 under 16, 1 female 16 under 18, 1 female 18 under 26, 1 female 45 up
on page 86
John Longnecker, 3 males under 10, 1 male 18 under 26, 1 female 10 under 16, 1 female 18 under 26
My Peter born 1817 should be a 3 year old and fits in the home of John and the younger Peter. The elder Peter and Jacob are both over 45 years old and could be brothers?A John Collins is listed on page 87, and my Peter married Sarah Collins, possible his daughter. From all the census my Peter claims he was born in KY., I found only these 2 Longnecker's in KY, so now it makes me think that the Peter in KY., is the father of my Peter in 1817 and the family moved from OH., abt. 1818 and before 1820.The family may have came from Maryland.
