Jozette - My father was from Carini Sicily and everytime some one asked about Sicily he would always changed the subject. Many years after he passed away my brother came up with cancer. I guess this was about 5 or 6 years ago. He being the eldest I thought if I ever wanted to know my heritage I better do some genealogy. Well I found that his mother sister had written two letters that my older sister had in hand. When we had them translated seems that some where in her family there was a connection with the Mafia. Further, just about six weeks ago it seems that that my grandmother had another son who also immigrated. No one ever spoke about him. I am trying to confirm this but it will take me some time as I am caring for my wife and my daughter comes up once a week and there are other pressing matters. Some day I hope to find time to check the state archives about this son. I believe my mother would not say any thing as she would be worried that one of her sons would step into the Mafia. So one really never knows, we would never had known had the two letter were not found.

Happy Thanksgiving
