thank you for that information. i don't know if that is my Enos Look or not. he was born around 1805, and did his medical studies in Ohio, so it could have been. i don't know of any mariages prior to Mary Duty in Clarksville in 1840(?). the Enos Sylvester i am looking for is Dr. Look's son, who was born about 1878, in Clarksville, and from the family lore, was a born wanderer. i found one in Maine who died in the 1970s, but have no way of telling if that is our E.S., Jr. there were apparently several cousins with that name. i'll keep digging, though. kindest regards, callie
