hi, Ray, the family doesn't have any records on Enos, Sr. before he came to texas in 1840. at one time i saw his certificate from the university of cincinatti to practice medicine, which was issued before 1840, but i do not have it. i do have an original of his obituary as it appeared in the Clarksville paper, which says he was 'an old indian fighter before he took up medicine and came to texas'. he was born in Stueben, New York, and his mother was a franklin. i seem to remember his parents ran a stage coach inn. sorry i cannot quote this exactly, but i do have it and if you think it is the same man, i will be able to dig it out for you (we are in the midst of a never-ending remodeling project, and everything important is stored at the moment.) are you a descendant of E.S. from his Kentucky marriage? kindest regards, callie
