Dear Richard, Yes, there were some Looks who came to Michigan, but whether or not they are related is a mystery that we-the lost-Looks-with-no-roots-to-go-past-Gettysburg are trying to find out. My Look family came to Michigan circa 1886 to Osceola County from Pembroke, Erie County New York. My granddad, John Look, was the last generation born in New York. His dad, Harry John Look was born in Pembroke NY 1849. Harry's dad John Look was born 1829 in Geneseo, Livingston County, New York, the son of William Look and Sarah Hill according to his Civil War records. There are some Look families of some prominence who settled in Lapeer County, Michigan, I believe in Farmer's Creek and Hadley township. The Courthouse here has a plaque honoring a Harry Look as the first judge in Lapeer County. There are some books in the Flint Public Library in Flint, Michigan that you can obtain on an interlibrary loan. The book was written about the Luce and Look families and is rich with sources, obits, and the like. Meanwhile, let me check out who the Looks were in Michigan. If you need some info, supply me the names and I will get them to you. In the meantime, if you can find anything on my Look family, it will be deeply appreciated. KIM
